The Friendliest Resort in the United Kingdom?  
 
Torquay in the South West of England is up for an accolade as the Most Group-Friendly UK Destination in the Group Travel Awards. The town has been voted into the finals by readers of Group Travel magazine and the awards are an annual celebration of the very best suppliers to the group travel industry. Each year readers are asked to vote in various categories, including the highly coveted Most Group-Friendly UK Destination award. 
 
Georgina Bowen, Marketing Manager at the English Riviera Tourist Board said: “This is wonderful news for the many establishments across the resort that host groups and provide not only an excellent service but a friendly welcome as well. The results are being announced at a gala evening being held in London on Friday 11th June and we have our fingers crossed that Torquay may scoop the main award.”
