Alice in Wonderland
Antony is a classically beautiful house and was chosen by Tim Burton to film many of the scenes feature in his new Alice in Wonderland movie starring Johnny Depp. The house is faced in silver-grey Pentewan stone and flanked by colonnaded wings of mellow brick and is a beguiling mixture of the formal and informal.
The house is located in Cornwall and is still the home of the Carew Pole family, containing fine collections of paintings, furniture and textiles. The grounds bordering the Lynher estuary, landscaped by Repton, include a formal garden with topiary, a knot garden, modern sculptures and the National Collection of Daylilies. The Woodland Garden has outstanding rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and camellias.
Students, visitors and fans are able to enjoy the unique and quirky Alice in Wonderland Experience including the opportunity to discover Alice's bedroom and visit the exhibition and amazing installations in the garden.
