These courses are designed to help you improve your General English skills. You may study for as little as 2, 3, 4 weeks or even longer - some students who start at the elementary levels study with us for 12, 24 or even 50 weeks. 
 
The classes are multi-national and you will be tested on arrival and placed in a class at your appropriate level. 
 
Age ranges on these courses start at 16 but many of the students at TIS are in their 20s, 30s, 40 and often older. 
 
Your teacher and the Director of Studies will monitor your progress regularly giving you advice to help you make the most of your time with us.

Intensive English Plus - 15 hours per week, a course for mature students 
This course is aimed at more mature students - for example the majority of candidates in these classes are aged 30 to 55. The course concentrates on General English topics and as there are a maximum of 4 candidates in each class you have the chance to make rapid improvement. 
 
Classes start at 08.40 and finish at 12.00 and you are invited to join the Business English candidates for lunch in town or at the Club TIS Cafe. Your afternoons are free for sightseeing, shopping, going to the beach, golf or perhaps to take some more classes or private lessons.

In addition to 30 hours tuition per week you will be invited to join in to Social Evenings per week which are designed for our business clients.

Morning classes focus on helping you to improve your General English skills and in the afternoons you will focus on various aspects of communicative Business English. 
 
At lunchtime you are invited to join other Business English clients for lunch and on two evenings per week there are social activities or evening excursions which are included as a part of your course.

Afternoon sessions include a variety of topics and a lot of emphasis is placed on communicative language in the work place.

Personal Intensive Coruses are quite simply 1-1 or one student/on teacher. This kind of course gives you the freedom to work on the areas of English that interest you most. 
 
We offer a minimum of 20 x 45 nminute lessons per week but 
you can take, 25, 30, 35 or 40 lessons per week. 
 
As with all other Business English Courses you will be invited to join the other canidates for lunch and two evening activities per week. 
 
Please note this is the only course on which we can accept complete beginners.

Business English Afternoons 
Business English Afternoons are an ooportunity to join the Business Classes for the afternoon Sessions where you will participate in a range of different communicative Business Topics such as: 
 
Grammar - revision of basic structures and introduction to new structures  
Business and Professional Language - to help you use English in a working environment according to your particular needs  
Meetings and Negotiations - simulated business meetings or meetings on a topic of interest to all  
Discussions - to expand your grammar and vocabulary in communicative situations  
Presentations - both giving and listening to. You will be asked to make a presentation which is frequently work-related to enable you to use vocabulary applicable to your work. These presentations are followed by a question and answer session with the rest of the class.  
Telephoning - practice in telephone language techniques and role play.  
Social Language - the development of social skills in English e.g. language of introductions, eating out, polite phrases - i.e. how to say the right thing.
