English Language Studies

Learning Centre

Our Learning Centre is an excellent resource for English as a Foreign Language students, providing a very pleasant place to work, as well as numerous books, newspapers and journals, CDs and DVDs, computers for finding information on the Internet, using online books, journals and databases, preparing assignments and taking part in learning activities.

Course information

Full-time courses include:

15 hour per week General English language course.

21 hour per week General English language course including self access. In self access sessions, you have the opportunity to receive help with your individual language learning needs.

25 hour per week English Plus course. For example: English Plus Art & Design, or a custom-made course such as English Plus Internship.

IELTS preparations courses can be added to the above courses.

Part time courses are held for either 3 or 5 hours per week at all levels from beginner to advanced.

Exams at the College

The College is an examination centre for the following:

Cambridge exams: KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE

Cambridge Skills for Life/Work exams

The IELTS exams are held at the University of Bath
